When People Leave Their Bodies
When people leave their bodies
By which I mean the ones who
Come back and tell us about it
They often speak
Of being near the ceiling
Or high in a corner
Looking dispassionately back
On their abandoned flesh
Seeing their surroundings
With a new-found clarity
We can only guess what awaits
Those who do not return
But those who do
Will never forget
How things looked from
The far corner of the room
